A year and a half after the debut of Winter House, Bravo’s Summer House has inspired an all-new series based out of Massachusetts, Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard.
In a similar format to its predecessors, the reality series will follow a group of friends, including Jasmine Ellis Cooper, Silas Cooper, Amir Lancaster, Jordan Emanuel, Preston Mitchum, Bria Fleming, Alex Tyree, Shanice Henderson, Jason Lyke, Summer Marie Thomas, and Nicholas “Nick” Arrington, as they vacation on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.
“If you don’t know, Black excellence is Martha’s Vineyard, and Martha’s Vineyard is Black excellence,” it is declared in the trailer.
In a press release from Bravo, the network teases “beach parties, decadent dinners, and summer hookups,” noting that viewers will see tons of drama play out.
“For more than 100 years, Black vacationers have flocked to Martha’s Vineyard, an island south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and one of the first beach destinations where African Americans could vacation and purchase a property. Known for its natural beauty with pristine beaches, romantic sailboats, colorful gingerbread cottages, and cultural identity, this summertime sanctuary has become a favorite escape for the rich, famous, and politically connected,” the network stated.
As the group, who has known each other for years, does their best to enjoy their time together, partaking in cultural experiences and embarking on other adventures, they’ll also be navigating through their challenges.

Unlike most of the cast, Amir is visiting Martha’s Vineyard for the very first time. And, for that very reason, the real estate mogul, who has Black and Lebanese roots, hopes to learn more about Black history during his visit.
Also, during his time on the island, per Bravo, Amir “falls hard for a housemate.”

At the end of last month, Bravo released the official trailer for season one.
“This is our first summer with our friends since getting married,” Jasmine reveals as the trailer begins.
And, right away, the series’ cast proclaims their excitement and intentions to party hard.
“I wanna dance, I wanna twerk, I wanna drop it like it’s hot, I wanna have a drink, I want a shot, rinse repeat,” Jordan declares.
“I’m ready to turn up and get lit,” agrees Shanice.
As they enjoy nights out at local bars and nights in at their pool, the ladies in the house can’t help but take note of Amir, describing him as sexy and saying his body is “built to the gods.”
One person who isn’t taking note of the male cast members’ good looks? Jasmine, whose friends say she’s “very different” as “married Jasmine” than she was when she was single.
“As long as you bring her home before 3 a.m. That’s it,” Silas directs as the girls plan a night out.
“Do you think you’re controlling?” Nick later asks Silas.
Jasmine and Silas’ relationship continues to be a hot topic throughout the trailer, as Summer suggests Silas is overbearing.
“He was like, ‘Were there men where you guys were dancing,’” Summer recalls.
“You knew what I meant by that,” Silas replies.
But he also seems upset about Jasmine’s relationship with former roommate Jason.
“Sometimes men can be intimidated by friendships with men and women,” Jason states.
Then, while out with the guys, Silas warns Jason, “Nice guys do finish last.”
“I will f-ck you up if you disrespect me,” he replies.
Noticing the tension, Jasmine confirms in a cast confessional, “Friendship and marriage are gonna butt heads.”
A number of rifts break out between the women and the men of the show throughout the sneak peek, one of which results in Preston seemingly threatening to leave the house.
“I’m done. If he doesn’t go, I’m done,” he states after Amir says he has “no problem handling business.”
As the clip ends, Jasmine and Silas are seen discussing their relationship.
“This marriage thing is hard. No one said it was easy,” he notes.
“Everything in me is telling me to check out,” she replies.
Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard season one premieres on Sunday, May 7, at 9/8c on Bravo.
